This is an exciting opportunity for Navigators with relevant experience to join the team in West Yorkshire.
Horizons is a pilot project funded by the Ministry of Justice to provide housing choices for people leaving prison. The service is being delivered by a partnership consisting of Foundation, Turning Lives Around and The Bridge Project. Its aim is to reduce homelessness amongst people leaving HMP Leeds and who want to resettle in West Yorkshire. Support is given from 12 weeks before a release date to identify suitable housing that will be available on release. Further support and guidance are given to maintain the accommodation whilst living in the community.
The Navigator will be responsible for assisting prisoners inside HMP Leeds to access suitable accommodation on release and to provide ongoing support in the community. The role involves providing support and guidance to access services and interventions for ex-offenders to maintain their own independent accommodation and meet their own aspirations.
Navigators may be supporting people with multiple disadvantage who may display challenging behavioural issues.
