Liaison and Diversion (L&D)

What is the Liaison and Diversion service?

The Liaison and Diversion service is led by Wakefield Council and operates across the whole of West Yorkshire. Bridge partners with both statutory and voluntary sector agencies to deliver the service. We employ specialist Substance Misuse Support Recovery Workers embedded within a multi-disciplinary team to identify people who have mental health, learning disability, substance misuse or other vulnerabilities when they first come into contact with the criminal justice system as suspects, defendants or offenders.

The service aims to reduce offending risk factors by diverting individuals away from crime and into health, social care or other appropriate services through signposting and short-term support.

The service is based at Trafalgar House Police Station, 58 Nelson Street, Bradford, BD5 0DZ.

Please call the team directly on 01924 302425 or our main service number 01274 723863 or email info@thebridgeproject.org.uk to make contact and find out more.
