New Vision Bradford is a partnership between the Bridge Project, Project 6 and Waythrough. Under this umbrella, the partnership delivers an adult substance misuse service for the Bradford and Craven District, aiming to help people tackle the misuse of alcohol and drugs and reduce risk taking behaviours through dedicated prevention, intervention, and support.
The Bridge Project is looking to recruit an Activities Coordinator on a full-time permanent basis to coordinate and deliver recovery activities, trips and events at Flourish Community Coffee Shop and Recovery Hub.
This is an exciting new role, and we are looking for someone who has a passion for recovery, with an upbeat personality, who is self-motivated and has the ability to get to know our service users to find out what they enjoy doing or to encourage them to try something new. You will be creative, innovative and enthusiastic and able to coordinate volunteer participation in leading activities and events. We would welcome individuals with a particular skill in activities such as art, music or fitness however this is not a requirement of the post.
We are looking for someone who has a relevant professional qualification in Health and Social Care, Social Work degree or 2 years’ full-time or equivalent experience of working with people with alcohol and/or drug problems and/or people with complex and multiple needs within the last 4 years.
You will have an excellent understanding of drug and alcohol issues and a good knowledge of adult and child safeguarding, along with the ability to identify recovery focussed activities and develop links with recovery groups. You will be highly organised with excellent communication skills and able to manage your time effectively, working as part of the team whilst maintaining a highly cooperative approach to supporting colleagues in delivering service objectives.
There is an element of flexibility around working hours required by the postholder. A willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check is also a requirement of the post.
